DRUNK OR DRUNK?

INTRODUCTION

The beginning of drunkenness is to start living from the past. In the beginning, however, it was not so. All things were orderly fashioned in this previous beginning. Unfortunately, the devil thwarted the nature of man and this led to the exodus of Adam away from Eden. Satan thought he had succeeded over Adam. Adam, who was created in God's image now have son in his own image instead of God's image just because he is now void of God's image, (GEN5vs3). 

In the scriptures, we are made to know that Cain and Abel were his first fruits. It will interest you to know that, before they offered their individual sacrifice, they were living peacefully. It was not clear in that verse why Cain's offering was rejected. The devil, seeing that peace is still dwelling among men and besides there's a "good" and acceptable being on earth which is Abel. Sad enough, he planned Abel's death and he was murdered by Cain. The devil must have thought of him (Abel) to be the Savior. From there and more sad, Cain was cursed.

I think we should come up higher where we see Noah, a man tagged righteous in his days. During his time, fallen angels were mating with daughters of men and giants were given birth to. Wicked act was rampant. This "vexed" God to want to destroy the earth. He searched and found Noah; gave instructions regarding the ark. Before the rain started, the man did all the 'wenting' (evangelism) but none yielded to his words not only because their hearts were so full of evils but power is yet to come (Acts 1:8). His power could only get some animals and his family. 

God, you are God! After the rain and covenant of rainbow, the devil crept in- Noah was drunk with wine and he was naked. Any responsible son should know that he must cover the nakedness of his father but rather laughed and the man called "righteous" cursed his son(Ham) and his Offspring(GEN9vs25-26), oh Noah, why this drunkenness?

Samson, a Nazareth whom God has endowed with power to deliver his generation, you are welcome. Well, his ministry was to deliver Israel but the devil gave him another ministry which is "woman chasing ministry." (WCM Int'l). It was international because, he went out of his country(Judges14vs1;16vs1). We could see the damnation of this great man. Why all these bro?

Throughout the Old Testament, the devil was trying to get rid of anything that seems to portray good and peace; replacing them with evil. But thanks to our God who brought us salvation through his son Jesus Christ. 

DRUNK WITH WINE? 

A man can only be drunk in two forms. It's either you are drunk with wine- SIN, poverty, failure, darkness, unforgiving etc. Or with the Holy Ghost(Ephesians5vs18). 

Let's check Mrs Hannah at Shiloh (because it was a time for merriment) and also it has been an habitual action of Hannah each time she comes to Shiloh to get drunk with wine.

 "And this man went up out of his city YEARLY to worship and to sacrifice unto the Lord of host in Shiloh." (I Sam 1vs3).

Eli could easily say such to her because he knows her to be a drunkard (1samuel1vs14). My brethren, what are you drunk with? wine?- SIN, poverty, failure, unforgiving etc. or the Holy Ghost? Are u curious about what I mean? Can someone be drunk with SIN, poverty etc? After all these things are not liquid. And as a matter of fact, they are more of abstract than physical. How is it possible? 

     Come, Let me tell u!

A man is said to be drunk with SIN when sin has become his/her lifestyle. When sin has taken over his life. Same thing applicable to others. 

I want us to take a closer look at someone who has drunk to stupor, you will agree with me that he becomes subjected to the influence of that alcohol and he will only act under that- against his own will(2peter2vs19). In this case, he has become a slave to alcohol (i.e alcohol is his master). Noah was drunk with wine,we all know how he ended up cursing his son and his offspring. 

DRUNK? 

You can also be drunk with the Holy Ghost like Peter,among others in the upper room. This implies that, you submit to him to be your master and to direct you.

 NOTE: It is not once or some times that you should get drunk in him but at all time.

PRICE TO PAY 

To enjoy this drunkenness in the Holy Ghost, some cogent price must be paid. As a drunkard always pay for the wine he want. It doesn't come freely. So also believers must pay the price. They are as follows:

1. One must possess the ZOE(THE GOD - KIND OF LIFE) 

2. One must be teachable(humility)(psalm25vs9,12)

3. One must be the WORD addict.

4. One must dwell in the secret place(PSALM91vs1)

Benefits of getting drunk in the Holy Ghost

1. Open heaven 

2. Divine access to revelations

3. Exhibition of the fruit of the spirit. 

4. Divine breakthrough 

5. Dominion in all facet. 

6. Indwelling of God's kingdom 

7. Presence of Peace. 

These are not all but few. 

PATHWAYS TO GETTING DRUNK?

I know you must have been asking, how, how and how? As it is possible for a carnal man to get drunk with wine, so it is possible for us as believers to get drunk in, and with the Holy Ghost.

There are some cogent ways of getting drunk. They are :

1. Through worship. 

2. Through prayer. 

3. Through meditation on the word. 

4. Through praying in the Holy Ghost. 

Oooooh! why praying in the Holy Ghost again? May I quickly say, praying in the Holy Ghost is for edification of one's spirit. In other words, for fortification of man's spirit. As a matter of fact, we don't know how or what to pray but the spirit intercedes for us with a groaning which cannot be uttered (Romans 8vs26). In other words, he helps us to pray. On the other hand, praying in understanding is praying with known tongues - intercession, supplication among others.

It will interest you to know that Praying in the Holy Ghost is same as communicating with and in the Holy Ghost. How? Prayer is an act of communication between a spiritual being and a terrestrial being. 

Then if prayer is an act of communication, that means praying in the Holy Ghost is tantamount to communicating in and with the Holy Ghost.

May I tell you that many have limited praying in Holy Ghost to tongues speaking alone. And this has become a rampant attitude among Christians.

Let me say, "It is not only tonging that makes the holy Ghost." Praying in the Spirit is praying out the will of the FATHER!

HEAR THIS CLEARLY, TONGUE IS NOT AN END IN ITSELF BUT A MEANS TO AN END! 

And how do a man know the will of the father? They're all in the Written word (BIBLE)which its purpose is to reveal the living WORD (JESUS)to us. HALLELUJAH!

Come let's reason together! 

In likes of the following scriptures (John 14:16, 17, 26;15:26) we could deduce who the Holy Spirit is and his mandate. 

In conclusion, God seeks worshippers, CORRECT! But He will not ACCEPT any WORSHIP if it's not from THE TRUE WORSHIPPERS. It's high time we ascend to our place in the heavenly places, at the right hand of the FATHER! (EPH2vs6).
