Topic: Ingredients of Spiritual Service 5

Sub- Topic: Scripture Studenthood
Text: 1 Thes. 4:11

Reading, Studying, Meditating, Regurgitating and Reproducing Spiritual substances make a Scripture Studenthood a very essential ingredient of spiritual service. More often than none, we have been taught several things about why we should be a studier of the word. Well, I like to tell you that, only study for s not enough to effect spiritual service. The first thing is reading. This is very important, we see it  recommended:
And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD'S house. Jer. 36:8.
We see also that Daniel also understood the value of reading and told us the advantage:
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. Dan. 9:2.
Reading of books, whether Christian novels, spiritual books, bible or any other book that are profitable to humanity is very important. As the popular saying is factual:
 reader is a leader
We must endeavour to read. Our laziness to reading denies us of some crucial information that we need for impacting our generation. However we must take caution to be selective in our reading:
But, my son, be warned: there is no end of opinions ready to be expressed. Studying them can go on forever and become very exhausting! Eccl. 12:12 TLB
The are timing too in reading. You don't for example, read about Marriage when you are just 5 years old. It will disturb you.
Studying is different from reading. When you study, you take the words line by line for sure understanding. You digest and acquire knowledge from that which is being study.
"Reading is for awareness, studying is for approval". Study brings transformation, it teaches character and modifies our lives:
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you. 1Thes 4:11.
A studios life is a live enriched with great potentials. It make you fit in your dedicated area. When you study, you can enjoy your meditation.
Only those things you can study are those things you can meditate. Meditation is important because it amplifies matter and bring them to life application.
A meditation on one can make it one thousand.
(Let see this extraction from Agur: A Despised You, How to Keep Your Youth Undespised.)
In study, we must learn that Knowledge is power. Knowledge can be revelational or natural both of them are relevant for a success-orriented person. In Joshua 1:8, God himself gave us a recommendation:
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Look at it, the book of the law is important to him because that is the field he pursues and that is where he can have good success, that is his call. Many believer gave all their time to reading and meditating on bible only even when they study different courses different from it because they misunderstood this basic principle. Every believer should be a student of the bible so no new thing should be attached to it. A pastor may study the bible morning till evening, there is no different. Meditation should done on important things not only bible. Everybody cannot be a pastor. When you meditate on your business project you make good success from it and thus serve God via it. (Agur: A Despised Youth: How to Keep Your Youth Undespised is an unpublished book by Me).
This is Apostle Paul humble advise on what to meditate on:
For the rest, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are noble, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are amiable, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if any praise, think on these things. Phil. 4:8 Darby Bible.
Regurgitation is a step further from meditation. This is how Apostle Paul divine it to Timothy:
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 1 Tim. 4:13,15.
Regurgitation is a step further from meditation. This is how Apostle Paul divine it to Timothy:
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 1 Tim. 4:13,15.
Regurgitation process includes "eat in eat out". You bring those things back to mind and meditate again and again. Give yourself wholeheartedly to it. Study brings approval, meditation brings good success, regurgitation brings profits, reproduction brings multiplication.
When we learn to write we learn to keep. What you write down, in jottings, in records, in document or broadcast is reproduced. Apostle Paul excels in this area. Always writing even in prison:
The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bringwith thee, and the books, butespecially the parchments. 2Tim. 4:13.
No wonder he excels in writing in his generation of the Apostles. What you reproduce can serve generations to come just as the epistles of Paul is making wave. God Himself recommended writing:
Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. Jer. 30:2.
Spiritual reproduction is a product of an encounter. Hear Nahum:
The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. Nah. 1:1.
It is always revelational and divine. Jesus Himself told John in the Patmos encounter:
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia..... Rev. 1:11.
Do you keep your devotional note? Do you write down your word encounter? How do you want others to benefit from your ideas? Apart from scriptures, those discovery of yours can be valuable to generations if you can keep the record. Hear what King Solomon said:
“Look at this,” says the Teacher. “Linking one thing to another, I reached this conclusion. Eccl. 7:27. ISV
Accumulation if this biblical burdens forms most of the book we read today. Accumulation of little ideas becomes great innovation. Why then should you waste you treasures? We have it in us, they are for us and our generation:
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Cor. 4:7.
It is time to wake and give a better approach to our spiritual studentship. This will enhance our service unto God in all facets. Those in academics, in politics, in businesses, etc. would reproduce and multiple grains that will attract people to ask about their God. They will also service men with those blessings. God has given us all these things.

We then, must arise. Train our minds to read, study, meditate, regurgitate, and reproduce what we have carefully selected by God's help.
We make impact. We make God proud.
I see God saying, I am Proud of You!
