Part Two
By Femi A. Falade
God, be praised and glorified for what you gave to us. Lord, we promise we shall not lay claim of what does not belong to us. We dare not. We can’t, we wouldn’t and we shall not. We will be contempted and we would make good use of what you gave us. We know that “we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise”, (2Cor. 10:12).
Lord, we promise not to “..boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you”, (2Cor. 10:13). As we look at the last two phenomena in the fallacy of what we claim, we want to submit that God, it has been you.
MY KNEES
Why the prayer and confession of faith above is so needed for our claim of surrendering all to God, it must be practical in our lives. We said, Lord our knees are surrendered, yet we walk around and never do what we claim.
Our knees must be submitted in the place of prayer. We must train ourselves to always go down to our knees to ask God, to fellowship and to listen to Him when he speaks to us. We can’t stand tall with God and claim we have submitted our knees; we must stay with God always. We must live in that humble communion with God.
MY TOE
We need to go everywhere because we have so much to do there. Our office must not be vacant after 8am, we would be guilty of our employment’s agreements. We need to attend all these meetings, we can’t help it. Why should we miss a class for any reason especially, revision class? We need to go on outing and from there a visit to a family friend. We missed our friends and spouses so often that we must have a date in the next space of time. Oh! Do we say we have submitted our toes to God too?
Yes, we have and that means we cannot go everywhere we want to go if we are not permitted to go by Jesus our master. We cannot cross this line, remember we said we have given all our toes to Jesus. We are guilty of our “to and fros” because we break the agreement of surrendering to God. We left the secret place and went wild, we have excuse? Yes, we have, but haven’t we surrendered our head to him too?
When we fail to acknowledge God in all our ways, he is not committed to directing our paths, (See Prov. 3:3-5). We must do our part to commit him to his word. We are not too submissive in our movements, we claimed our natural constitutional right for movement.
This right contradicts our commitment to our claims. We need to look back. Humility also covers our toes, where we go. We need to be totally submissive in all wise.
So, it is a fallacy to claim your “surrender all” without becoming real in these dispositions. God, we need help!
This is the help we need- Our knees at God’s feet always and the performance thereafter.
Thank you Father!
Your Servant,
Femi A. Falade
