STARTING LARGE (Dedicated to Queen Adedire Christianah Adekanbi on Her 25th Birthday) by Femi A. Falade
Help me tell those who want to start large to hear a story of a man who started large and ended in nothing. He started as a hero and ended as a zero. His life and the lesson thereof can help us check where we are missing out in our steps to the greater paths we have dreamed of.
Starting large is a fallacy of itself. Those who seek to start large find themselves in many troubles now or later. They started large but ended lacked. They started fast but ended late. They started best but ended worse.
Friends, to dream big is not a sin, but the beginning don’t start at the end or middle, the beginning begins at the beginning. We have the account of Nimrod whom the scripture described as a mighty man, a mighty hunter before the Lord, a man who is called after the magnificence of God. A great man who has no root from the making of God.
Unfortunately, when he began his journey to the place of fulfillment, the scripture told us, he began His kingdom with Babel and other kingdoms:
He was a mighty hunter before the LORD…. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. Gen. 10:9-10.
When your beginning contradicts God who is the Beginning Himself, you are set on a suicide mission. I found out from the scriptures that, God is the First and the Last. That phrase is used together all the time. God is never referred to as the Last or as the First only. He is called the First and the Last. This simply means that whatever God is not the first (He did not start) He cannot be the Last. He has to start it to end it. He has to be the first in the plan before he can see to the end of the matter.
In starting, no matter how small, if you start with God, you are starting large. If you start any project without God, no matter how big it looks at the beginning, it is small, fail, nothing and has no foundation. Discover your beginning by God and never start large without God. God, the First, God the Last. What God did not start, He cannot End.
Let us start!
