MANAGING INJURIES SUSTAINED IN GOD'S WORK (Dedicated to Bishop Tosin Adegoke) by Femi A. Falade

MANAGING INJURIES SUSTAINED IN GOD'S WORK (Dedicated to Bishop Tosin Adegoke) by Femi A. Falade

Like to share this funny experience first before we look into the matter at hand. Some times ago, I was about to eat with a friend when a brother came around, surprisingly he said, "Bro. Femi, so you too do eat? Have never seen you eat before, I thought you just fast and fast everytime". As funny as that looks, that is usually seen as part of our lives since we are not not free to do what we would love to do every time. I speak in the manner of human desires.

It is interesting actually. As far as those who see us as super humans are concerned, we don't have any pain, no worries and no injuries. In fact, some thought we don't have urges or "carnal desires" too. We look like supermen and one that have everything at his disposer. We have not been seen crying openly perhaps for once, so they concluded we don't cry even though our cries are in our secret places.

We have not written letter of hunger to the government, so they concluded we always have something to eat. We did not send awareness to our members that, we have been admitted at the hospital, so they concluded pastors don't fall sick or get weak. We have not cease to smiles even though things are hugely so they said, pastor have no sorrow. We have continue to give all our attentions to all that pertains to them and they concluded, pastors are jobless people.

Bishop Tosin Adegoke would remember the day we planned to go to Best Brain College at Ibadan, (A city in Nigeria) for secondary school evangelism. That same day, I got my hackle dislodged while trying to rush a bus going somewhere, with swollen and dislocated leg I was at the ministration as though all-is-well. During the cause of rushing to get things fixed up before the time for a program, ministers got wounded but no body know. When we breath 100times in one minutes because we have made declaration and the time for the fulfilment seems not ripe, yet, we look like we have no worries.

When the children are sick, wives need what is not available at that moment, mothers called but the expected desires could not be met; when we are fasting, doing night prayers and others spiritual things which make other things useless and we  had to pay the price.

All the pains and wounds are left to the minister thinking they are our fathers in the Lord.

How do we manage this wounds? Oh! That we will beg the Holy Ghost! We will pray like Apostle Paul did and trust God to heal our wounds. Oh that we will search the scriptures for solution. Oh that we will rely on the Holy Spirit by trusting in him. We will look unto Jesus! We will also relate them to people God would direct to us. People who God has given wisdom to handle some of the things. Yet, we must bore our burdens alone with the Caller. That is why, we must be sure of the Caller and our callings.

Oh we will help each other and not making each other a topic of shame to be discussed. Oh that the church will pray for the ministers. Oh that we will bear our pains in joy if God want it to tarry!

Oh Lord, heal the wounded servants of yours, rescued those who are fallen victims and weak. Take away water from the eyes of your servants and make them rejoice in hope!

Amen.
