ACCEPT THE HOLY GHOST AS YOUR LORD by Femi A. Falade

ACCEPT THE HOLY GHOST AS YOUR LORD by Femi A. Falade

Do we need to preach to believers again? Believers who have once accepted Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior, who have experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit and who have been in a relationship with the Spirit of Love. I think we can, not another gospel but an eye-opening revelation to correct the notion and the kind of relationship most believers have with the Holy Spirit.

Let me laugh first and a little and say, “the HOLY GHOST IS NOT YOUR MATE”! Help me tell everybody you know including me. Why do we see the Holy Ghost as our servant? We know He is your Helper, Comforter, Reminder, Teacher, Enabler, Strengthener, Keeper, Intercessor, Supporter, Upholder, and so on, yet He is not your mate.

THE HOLY GHOST HAS BECOME THE LORD

The Holy Ghost has become the Lord and we must all accept Him as our Lord. This message is to the believers among us. We read from the Old Testamental records, where the bible always referred to God as our Lord. For example, in Exodus 6:7, God affirmed His Lordship over the people of Israel:

And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of their Egyptians.

God is the Lord. He dealt with them as the Lord God throughout the Old Testament dispensation. They saw Him as Lord and trembled before Him, they saw Him as Lord over their lives. God, then, is the Lord.

The period of the New Testament brought a shift in the person who is the Lord. He is Jesus, the Lord. In several places in the books of the gospel, Jesus was referred to as the Lord both by the disciples, who have the knowledge of Him and those of the Pharisee who came to Him for healings. Finally in the book of the Acts of the Apostles 2:36, the Apostles declared it officially:

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
That is why, we say, if you shall accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior according to this revelation and Romans 10:9-10, among others. The Lord there means, he will rule over you and you will submit to Him as your Lord, doing nothing of your own.

The same position of Lordship has to be given to Him, the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost emerged the next in line after Jesus declared Him to continue with us in John 16 moving us from “God for us to God with us and now to God in us”. We don’t need more explanation to this because NOW means Now.  So, by the revelation coded in 2Corintians 3:17, we know that the Holy Ghost has become the Lord. Before, “God is the Lord and Later, Jesus is the Lord and “Now, the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”. (Present tense used deliberately, The Trinity are still present, what One is, the rest are).

How do we relate with the Holy Ghost? We disobey Him thinking He is our mate? We disregard Him and even invite Him to our meeting instead of Him being the HOST. We say, “let us now invite the Holy Ghost” when we have fulfill our own desires in the meeting. This ought not to be. The Holy Ghost must be Lord and remained as Lord in our lives.

Respect and follow His will, don’t strive with Him, submit to Him and follow His direction as He leads. He is the Holy Ghost. He is the Lord.
