SSS 2 - Friday 2nd, September 2016 Topic: Prerequisites to Spiritual Service 1 Sub-Topic: The Presentation and The Presenter Text: Rom. 6:16 In the matter of the righteous world of God, men are given the power of choice to do the presentation of themselves whether to God their creator or to something else. Imagine!. Rom. 12:1,6:16. No man can be born again, fill in the Holy Spirit or tap into any heavenly resources without his permission and his own consent. That is why we always see words like "If", "whoever", "Should" etc. in the word of God. For example, Rom10:9 says That "if" thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Also John 3:16 says For God so loved the world,......that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. These words show us very clearly some power of liberty to choose. We have the power to present ourselves for the service of God. God needs us to say, Lord am ready!. The story of Paul's conversion was symbolic, Paul asked a question of self presentation: Acts9:5 (As the presenter he asked) And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. The the presentation scene came: Acts9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. What is further significant to us here is that Paul has once recognized who was with him in the encounter scene. Beloved, before you can truly present yourself to Jesus, you must first have a salvation encounter with Him, where you will see Him. Then, you will also have transformation encounters with Him where you are been changed perpetually to His image, this is through the word of God and devoted prayers.2Cor.3:18. All the same, you must also stop the presentation of your body to sin and the works of the devil. You must have made up your mind like Joshua did, that it is God that I will serve. Jos. 24:15.To present yourself to God for spiritual service, the following are summarily important: 1. Be born Again 2. Do away with Sins and all Wickedness 3. Engage in constant sanctification 4. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. 5. Give yourself diligently to God. 6. Remain committed to the Word and Prayers. And then you can be sure that you can walk with Him in Kingdom partnership. As we must note and realize, we cannot serve two masters. Matt. 6:24. Paul further says again: Rom12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. As much as Paul is begging, the whole heaven is pleading that PLEASE give yourself to God for a reasonable service. Today is your day, open your month and say: Lord Jesus, am sorry for my sins please have mercy. I believe your death, burial and resurrection. I accept and confess you as my Lord and personal saviour, Write my name in the book of life. Thank You for saving me. I am saved. And say to God for self presentation: Lord, I dedicate my life to you and to your purpose. I give my self away for you, take me, use me and be glorified. Thank you Jesus.
