Serpentadam: The Unscreened Partnership Agreement

Divine partnership is a choice. Several choices have to be made: the choice of the partner, the choice of the kind of partnership and the choice of the kind of deeds that would be agreed on, among others. In all these processes, we have a say and in fact, the upper hand. That sounds good. I want to show you that there was a time ago when all men entered into an unwelcomed, undesirable, undebatable, uncalculated, unscreened, unprepared, unarranged, uninvited and unwanted partnership with an unwanted and unpresentable partner- the devil. At the time when the partnership deed was signed into sin, only one man (Adam) and woman (Eve), all generation were there. The name of the partnership agreement is better called Serpentadam (Serpent-Adam). They found themselves in this insult and died without a successful appeal. The forceful partnership was so intense and strong that the interference of this devilish partner is seen all over us since then and we are just too used with it. This is just the short background story behind the ministry of baptism unto separation that Jesus came to institute. (You can read Genesis chapter 1-3 for the details of the agreement)

The Position of God

Now that the scriptures has confined all under sin, (Gal. 3:22), and all have sinned and fall short the glory of God, (Rom. 3:23), would God also destroy men as in the days of Noah? What did the father of mercy do to cause the separation? One surprise is the lamentation of God on this matter. God knew this agreement was wrong. God knew it is not legally binding forever and thus asks that:

….what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? 

What?! What agreement I mean. Who signed it? This is not supposed to be! Apostle Paul lamented. He further explained that we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (2Cor. 6:16)

God would not see us engaged in an unworthy agreement and operate under it pains and torture and leave us like that. He commanded that:

…… Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you,…..And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

What does God say here? First, understand that the agreement is not correlative. Second, remind yourself of who you are- the temple of God. Third, Know God’s position (in and around you) as far as you are concerned- in you and among you. Fourth, God can say, you are my people and then you agree that I am a person of God and then, we move a step up. Fifth, come out from among them. Sixth, be separated. Seventh, touch no unclean thing, and you get to another level when God will receive you and be a father to you while you be a son or a daughter to him. Glorious! 

Unless, your separation from the world, you cannot be a son of God. There are differences between my people and my sons/daughters. My people can be my relatives but my sons are closer. God want you to be a son and not a people. That is the major reason for the call unto separation.

Jesus Separatism: The Institution of Baptism 

We need help Jesus. How do we go through these processes of separation at once without missing the mark? How do we live without touching unclean things? How do we meet up with the father’s demand? Jesus baptism then, comes to play. The separation plan of Jesus is trough dead-birth baptism. Baptism, we must recall is a death to sin and a new life in righteousness. Apostle Paul gave us how it works in Romans 6:3-12: 

Or are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him , that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin; for he that hath died is justified from sin. But if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him; knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death no more hath dominion over him. For the death that he died, he died unto sin once: but the life that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof.

Thank God. The death of Jesus is more than just an event in the historical bible. It is a significant of the packages he has for us- to free us from the former commitment. He died, we died with him. He was buried, we were buried with him. He rose again, we were also raised in the newness of life. This is what we can describe as a born again internal process. This baptism separates our old man from our new man and thus causes an unbeatable separation plan from God to work out for us. 

This separation makes us a new being. We became alive to God and dead to sin. It make us God’s own and, in fact, God’s very own. It makes us an acceptable sons and daughters of God. This made us aware of the blood covenant, the cross operations and the events of the happening at the hades and there effect on our salvation. Glory to God who has gave us victory in Christ Jesus. 

Therefore, if you are not born again, come, rush and meet him today that you may be separated unto God. Have you known him? You are separated unto God and you are God’s:

But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation. 2Cor. 5:18

This separation reality is what guarantees us to say to the devil, devil get lost. This is the revelation we can hold on to, to tell the devil that the incondusive relationship he has with us has been terminated and, therefore, he must GET LOST! Amen.
