My Encounter with Kenneth Copeland
The Gist, The Teaching and The Impartation
By Femi Falade
It was March 11, 2017. The expected happened in an unexpected way. It must be expected, it must be prepared for, it must be a conscious demand; it is called an encounter. I love a song sang by a minister in Nigeria. The song, filled with the power of spiritual provocation, creates a long awaiting thirst in me any time I listen to it. The lyrics of the song read:
Jeeeesus,,,,
Reveal yourself to me,
Open my eye to see,
I need an encounter,,,,
Holy Ghost,
Reveal yourself to me,
Open my eye to see,
I need an encounter,,,,
I had first received a gladding news around 10:29pm that night. It was a news to celebrate. I had a wonderful meal that night. It was in Akungba-Akoko, a town in Ondo State, Nigeria, in Harmony Lodge. The venue of the encounter was the United State of America, how and when my flight got there was unknown to me, I only find myself there after going to bed.
An atmosphere of love, of joy, of peace, of gentleness and of relationship, a family I love to be with. Kenneth Copeland and His wife were having a nice time. I got there watching. I have not seen him before, so, I did not know he is the one. He had a very nice time playing with his wife and his family. I was there, watching and enjoying the relationship as I wait for him.
Suddenly, he welcomed me. He took me by his hand. He hugged me. Smiling and happily celebrating me. I was with me alone and having some discussion. After a while, he brought out one of his book that I have longed to read- Six Steps to Excellence in Ministry. I have heard about the book but I have neither seen it nor read it before that time. The colour, the front does not look to beautiful. He started teaching me those six things that guarantee excellence in ministry.
After long teaching and discussion, he laid his two hands on me and impacted me with grace and love for ministry. Like in the physical world, I could feel that. I was overwhelmed. I was filled with joy because grace has been added to grace.
Few days after the encounter, I walked into a Christian bookshop and asked if I could get the book. He bookseller told me they have and with eagerness I requested for it. He brought it and grabbing it, I checked very well and check the back for the author picture and I saw the man I met in my encounter. I also saw that the book was the same; same size and colour. I checked the contents too, it was as explained. I rejoice greatly in my spirit. I quickly pay with one other book authored by him. The title of the book is Walking in the Realm of the Miraculous. I could remember the statement the bookseller made when I explained my experience to him, every such experience is another step in the furtherance of your ministry (paraphrased) he said.
Lord, I need more encounters. Counting on the accounts of encounters with men made great by God both home and abroad, can start counting on the likes of Kenneth E. Hagan, Benny Him, Kenneth Copeland, Segun Ariyo, Bishop David Carr, Bishop Oyedepo David, Pastor E. A Adeboye, Prophet Femi Adedeji, Prophet Babs and many more whose name cannot enter this line.
Above all, Jesus Himself has encountered me severally, and other diverse encounters with God in heaven, where also my prophetic mandate was commissioned. The lesson I wish I could pass across is that, every great minister is a product of one encounter or the other. We read of Jacob (Gen. 32), of Apostle Paul (Act 9) and uncountable of others. I wish you also know that no encounter is automatic, you must thirst for it and be prepared for it.
My Time Has Come Prophetic Mandate for March 2017 is real! Glory to God.
