MY REDEEMER LIVES

Why seek ye the living among the dead the angel asked, He is not here , but is risen. Luke 24:5b-6a.
How can the way be locked up in the grave, the truth sealed up with stone and the life lying dead in a sepulcher? These are the questions I asked myself as I ponder on the redemptive works of Jesus Christ.
To redeem in the Hebrew language mean (ga'al) which mean to regain possession of something by payment or to buy back something that was lost. It also means to pay a ransom which in some cases requires bloodshed.
The redemptive work of Jesus is summarised in the verse 7 of Luke 24 saying, “The son of man must be delivered into the hand of sinful men and be crucified and the third day rise again". A redeemer is translated in the Hebrew language to mean a liberator or a deliverer, this made me remember the words of the angel of the Lord to Mary in Matthew 1:21 "And she shall bring forth a son and thou shall call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from there sin"
Therefore, death could not stop him, the grave could not hold him, even hell could not withstand him so that on the third day he will rise again according to the scriptures.
My redeemer lives!!!!!! As we celebrate this season, don't be like those who seek the living among the dead.
