THE NOUN AND VERB OF SPIRITUAL DEMANDS by Femi A. Falade
Up till the time this article is written, many believers, pastors alike, are still confused on the matter of the noun and verb of spiritual demands from the word of God. As such, areas when the bible use a noun word, are misinterpret for verb and vice versa. This is one of the reasons most believers thought the kingdom life is so difficult to live.
We need just a little knowledge that will propel more knowledge on this matter. I can promise you that from today, if you can check this matter when studying your bible, you would not see heaviness and difficulty following God and living the life of God. This is not what professor of English can explain, it takes the Holy Ghost to bring us into this knowledge. The Holy Ghost is here. His name is Yahweh, with light in His Hand, to illuminate us!
In several places in the scripture, we see God's servants who wrote by the Holy Ghost tell us matters of kingdom concern using verb (action word, continuous expression or expectations) and at other times, they use noun (to mean what has been established or a personality).
They may say, as in, Peter the Apostle, for example, Be Holy as Your Father in Heaven is Holy. (1Pet. 1:15), and people begin to ask, why be Holy again? God has made me Holy by redemption, I was redeemed by the Incorruptible. I have been made holy through the workability of what Jesus has done.
The bible also said be perfect. Matt. 5:48. And others say, how can one be perfect? Only God is perfect. No one is perfect. No one is perfect.. No one is perfect! Well, do you ask, is this noun or verb?
Another example is about righteousness. When the bible told us we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, (2Cor. 5:17) and we later come across other places in the bible that bid us to be righteous what do we say? How?
The simple help we need is this. The holiness of God is a gift and nature or personality that has been given to you. It is a noun. As God is Holy, means God is Holy. Not as verb, but noun. God is the Person of Holy. Because of that, you are holy, but let it show in all your conducts. That is exactly what the scripture says in 1Pet. 1:15-16.
The righteousness of God is a gift and a personality. That is noun. Righteous living is a verb, an action word. The seed is already in you, let it grow. The nature is in you. Live it. That's the simple meaning.
For perfection, God has given you a perfect nature. Whatever God give is perfect. Every perfect gift, the bible told us in Jam. 1:17, is from God, the Father of light. So, the life is a perfect life. That is why it is eternal. But you see, you have to come to the point of living it here on earth first before living it in heaven. Everything God gives is to ensure that perfectness of His nature in us speak out.
There are many other words in the scripture that carry the same syllable and weight of noun and verb. So, when you are studying the bible, check them out before complaining. It is a settled matter or a continuous matter?
We know little about God yet, we have not so learnt Christ. May God give you understanding. I want to hear the testimony that you have stop saying "to please God is impossible". He want you to live the life of pleasing Him for men to witness. As Jesus is God's delight, so you are. For more revelation of your new nature in Christ Jesus, please order for my book, "Laying Hold on Divine Treasure". God bless you!
Remain fresh for Christ!
God's Servant,
