SSS 6 - Tuesday 6th, September 2016 Topic: Ingredients of Spiritual Service 1 Sub-Topic: The Election of the Chosen Text: 1Thes. 1:4 As far as God is concern, he unquestionably makes His choice of things to use. Rom 9:11 informs us of the dispute between Jacob and Esau:  (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) Unlike the natural world, God chooses based on standard well suitable to Him, but I saw that every of such election is by grace not of work as we seen in the text above. Apostle Paul reemphasized this for our understanding in Romans 11:5: Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.  The first ingredient in offering an acceptable sacrifice is therefore The Election which is of course by grace. How do we merit this choice? The answer is that it is by grace. If grace, does it mean that we need to wait until grace locate us? Yes. When will that grace locate us? At the cross. So if I am saved, am I a candidate of grace? Yes. Eph. 2:8 told us that we are save by grace. The interesting thing is that the same grace that found you at salvation guarantees your election. This election is of two type. The first is the general election of all men for kingdom mandate. The other is the chosen among the elected. Jesus Himself gave us a clear picture of that is in Mattew 22:14: For many are called, but few are chosen.  The later few that were chosen has a specific anointed mandate. They are the one that Isaiah 54:17 talks about: No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.  This is a specific one. There are limits to the general mandate, there is no limit to the specific one in its field. We have this ingredient given to us freely like salt in the soup. We can boldly offer our sacrifice to him based on that. We are the priest of our offering, no longer should any pastor or Reverend stand in our gap, we are made a priest: And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. Rev. 5:10. Everybody can serve God as far as we are saved. The elected are the sacrificers. We are in line with God. We can approach Him. More, more Lord! Let get closer too close! Blessed forever.
