The Secret of Bishop David O. Oyedepo’s Prosperity: Lesson for Believers By Femi Falade A

The
Secret of Bishop David O. Oyedepo’s Prosperity: Lesson for Believers

By Femi A. Falade

I am privileged by God to know Bishop David Oyedepo. I have been under his ministration and ministry both to be blessed and to be impacted. Before that time, I have heard many people including one of my friends, who, because of the ignorance of Bishop’s source of prosperous living castigated him as others do.

I have found out a secret that worked for Bishop and I love to share with as many people that are interested in this fact. I am not interested in the rumor that has been going around about great men of God, and I am not also trying to be unaware of several castigations against them. My focus in this piece is to create a challenge in the hearts of ministers of God to dig deeper into God. This is not to claim that they should pursue prosperity, of course, Papa don’t do that, prosperity only follow him as he meet this simple principle from God’s word He operate on.

I wish to copy a statement made by Papa in one of my sermon notes, the recent one dated to 24th February 2017 during the Impartation Service of my Leadership Diploma Course’s convocation at Word of Faith Bible Institute held at Faith Tabernacle, Cannanland, Ota. The statement reads:

Many People are in need because they don’t know what they need

This is why many minister labour for many yes without result. I know this secret will help us. I could remember very well, Papa said:

Money is not what should be pursued, it is what is added to the ministry’s pursuit.

Thus, it became very clear that Papa does not pursue money or prosperity as they were and as the intentions of most men of God are.

Papa also said:

You don’t know my secret until you know my heart bit for God.

This word shocked me where I sat that day. I knew he love God but I don’t know how much. From papa history I read both in his books and in documentaries and those I have personally made research on especially on his 62nd birthday and coupled with what I heard from him directly and what other ministers in Winner’s chapel (and independent ministries) preached and thought me including his own first Born, Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr., Bishop David Oyedepo is a passionate and strange lover of God. (Matt. 6:33). If I love God like he did, I would have been wow!

He would rather choose to die than to live without God. Just like Joseph in the biblical story, Papa reaped the result that followed those who love God. No wonder that, Papa is also mentored by desperate lover of God like him, the likes of Kenneth Copeland, Pastor E.A Adeboye, Late. Archbishop Benson Idahosa among other few.

His love for God was therefore expressed in all he do. It galvanized into his unbreakable passion for soul winning, desperate giving, committed tithing, and deeper dimension of intimacy and fellowship with God. Again, one of the statements Papa made was that:

When breading my last breadth, it will be Jesus I just love you.

What a lover of God Papa His. The bible have confirmed it, everything is good for God’s lover, everything works for them, everything hidden is opened to them. Show me a Christian that is making notable exploits and I will show you a true lover of God. I personally lean from him, his passion and love for God and wish all men and ministers most especially, will learn from this.

My prayer is, Lord, Help me to love YOU!!!
