7 GLORIOUS WAYS TO DIE (PART TWO) BY FEMI A. FALADE

7 GLORIOUS WAYS TO DIE (PART TWO)BY FEMI A. FALADE

In the part one, I explored one out of the seven glorious ways to die.  In this part, I will be discussing many others. Well, many people have died by accident, by sickness and by hunger. We must not die that way, we have a pattern of death from the Holy Bible. Let us go and die.

Second way is to “Have no confidence in the flesh”. We are in the body but dead to it. A better way to die this kind of death is to refuse to know the flesh. We are the circumcision who serve God in the Spirit. We are alive only in the Spirit. Making flesh look like he exists makes us dead and more deadly.

Many believers speak this way, “you know I want do great thing for God but it is flesh”, “you know flesh is powerful, it is the one we are still in and its override us”, “we can only try, we are all in the flesh”. We are not all in the flesh. As long as we keep envying the flesh and letting it looks important to us by dressing it up, we cannot be died to live.

Beloveth, we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit (because we are dead to the flesh), and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (Phil. 3:3 emphases in bracket is mine).

Next way to died gloriously is “Counting your gains as loss”. Paul would say, but what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Phil. 3:7. Beloved brother and sister, there are many things that are gain to us if we would be sincere with ourselves. For example, it was gain to me to stay in Akure and pick up job with Dangote Cement that I was being offered in January but, I count it as a loss for Christ because that part of me that want to do my will (the flesh) has died and one of the ways I can claim that it has really died is to count all gains as loss.

We strife to live when we refuse to count things and lost them indeed for Christ who is our life. To live and live for Christ, we must count even our possessions as loss for Christ. We would need to say to our gains, I am dead to you because you are opposite the life of Christ I choose to live. Many believers today know they are doing the wrong thing, that they are in the wrong location and directions, that they are in the wrong relationships but because that flesh is still alive and had its claim over them, they find it difficult to count those wrong choices as a loss. To died indeed, it is glorious to count all gain as lost for Christ.
