3 REASONS YOU MUST COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

By Femi A. Falade

At every point in life, we either count our blessings or our curses

When we count our blessings we uncount our lacks.

We are ungrateful to God. We thought all we are enjoying are the products of our works. Our efforts show that, what we worth is what we are enjoying so we say, well I know why things are like this.

Again, we have seen counting of blessings as a source of pride and competitions among ourselves. No, it should not be. We must count our blessings and that should be rightly done and it must of course be purposeful. These three reasons will help us.

FOR APPRECIATION

One of the most important reasons we must count our blessings is for appreciation. We must appreciate the One who blesses all men. Counting your blessings makes you think of what God has done. One of the most wonderful verses that guides in counting ours blessings for appreciation is Psalm 136.

When we check, we would be surprise to see what the Lord has done. Be grateful!

FOR EVALUATION

Counting blessings gives you record sense which will make you have a correct evaluation of the fulfillment of the purpose of God for your life. Counting your blessings makes you check the progress you have made in that pursuit.

You could say if you are operating progressively or regressively. I found out from God’s word that, Christian life is arranged to be better. Prov. 4:8. And again, there is always a better thing, better testimony and better result. This was a common term the writer of the book of Hebrew used all through. So, counting the blessings makes us know if we are meeting up with biblical standard and scriptural expectation for our lives.

FOR PROSPECTS

We have appreciated God by the counting of the blessings. Thank God, we have also attempted an evaluation of the past and the now. It is more safe to set out our prospects prophetically and faith-rugged right.

Counting our blessings make us to design an achievable prospects for our lives. We have seen the boundary, we have seen our current position we can by God’s word and evaluation above, discern where we should be in the next operational year.

It is important to add that, these prospects must come from the revelation of God's plan for us which the bible guides us into. We must set it out and take steps of faith in appreciation and anticipation of what God would help us achieve again and again.
